Purchasing Property That Will Require New Service Installation
If will need a brand new electric service installation, we will need all the information outlined above as well as the legal description of the property – township, range, and section of the property, name of subdivision, lot and block numbers, physical address, etc. The township, range and section information can be obtained through the county assessor’s office in the appropriate county where the land is located or on the property deed paperwork you received when purchasing the land.
You will need to sign a service agreement with the cooperative and you may will be required to pay a new service charge. For more information about the terms of your agreement and fees and charges you will be responsible for, contact one of the cooperative's customer service representatives between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Depending upon the property location and distance from existing electric service, you may need to work with one of the cooperative's staking engineers. It is always wise to call SLVREC before you build!
